Why Children’s Ministries?
Children are a heritage from
the Lord. To help them grow in Jesus, K.I.D.S. (Kids in Divine Service)
Church happens every Sunday
during our morning service for all kids 5-12. For the younger ones, our nursery is open during each service, and parents receive an individualized pager during our Sunday morning services, for added peace of mind. During Sunday School and during our mid-week services there are Nursery and Preschool age groups for children
under age 6, and classes for children ages 6-8, and 9-12. Each class
values children as part of the church family
in teaching the Word of God and in providing an
expression of worship for spiritual growth. Children
come to know the Lord at an early age and are
taught and discipled in biblical principles using
puppets, costumed characters, Bible games, music, videos, and
drama. This also enables them to be a part
of the ministry at the Lighthouse!
Sunday Bible Study
There are Bible study/Sunday school classes
every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at grade
level instruction for children from K-5 through grade 8, as well as nursery and toddlers classes.
Wednesday Girls Club and Royal Rangers Groups
The Lighthouse children’s program on Wednesday is
designed to provide spiritual enrichment and fun
for children from K-5 through grade 8 (there are also teen classes for the older kids). The activities
begin at 7 p.m. as everyone goes to an exciting grade-level
class which lasts until 8:30 p.m.
Special Events
Throughout the year the Lighthouse Church offers children special opportunities to both grow in Jesus as well as to reach out with the love of God to the community. Vacation Bible School, nursing home visitation, Girls Club Jamboree, and other events are times when our kids discover that Jesus isn't just about Sunday!
Proverbs 22:6 says: “Teach a child to choose the right path, and when he is older, he will remain upon it.”
Our goal is to show children that serving Christ can be fun and exciting.
